Tagaytay, one of the cities of Cavite, is just approximately
55 kilometres away from Manila. it is a favored destination over Baguio due to
its ease of access for Manileños.
It was already over a year since the last time I was here and a few things have
changed. I noted the climate is not as breezy as to the last time I went plus many
commercial establishments are already built and being built. It may be a gain
for investors but a regret for someone like me who wants to restore its green
scenery. Nevertheless, this can still be a swift escape from the city and a remedy for the tensed
mind.
First stop was Sky Ranch.
First stop was Sky Ranch.
Sky Ranch, the newly developed theme park, catches the fancy of young and the not so young crowd. We came too early at the park so we waited for the gate to be opened at 09:00 AM. You just have to pay an entrance fee of 80 php (rides are excluded) and you’d be off to roll. In general, it’s a familiar park equipped with modernized rides. I like the idea that they integrated a splash of greens in the park. They have a pathway leading to a great view of The Taal Lake. We decided to leave the place as soon as we’re certain not to try a single ride.

Next, was Pink Sister’s Convent.
Pink Sister’s Convent and Monastery is sheltered along Brent Road near Olivarez Center. It is managed by nuns in their cute pink uniforms (how kikay) yes, i know :)
They take turns in nonstop praying 24/7. The convent is a solemn place for petitions and quick mass which is being visited mostly by tourists. In order to maintain the sacredness of their haven, there are some friendly reminders to keep in mind – Keep mobile phones shut off or in silence mode, keep voice in low tone, no picture taking inside the chapel (some are discreet by turning the flash off), and everyone should know this by heart now – DO NOT LITTER.
Jesus on the Cross
We also got the chance to visit Tierra de Maria as we pass through Tagaytay- Calamba Road. The 50 foot image of Our Lady of Manaoag is displayed in the topmost of the area. The place is just average in size to fill in some people who wanted to meditate. It may be small in size but surely its holiness compensates.
Tierra de Maria, Haven for Meditation and Enrichment
Tagaytay is without a doubt a quick sweet escape from the strapping life we have in the city. It gives you the freedom to set aside your crammed calendar and makes you feel on the go without the rush. It lets you decide whether you want to go extreme or try a pilgrimage of faith renewal.
Have a safe and meaningful journey everyone!
