Their tribes are strategically located in sierras for agriculture that have been sustaining the ancient households for years. STAY |

 ~ Chen's Sacya-an Home ~

There are a few options for lodging in this humble town. They have the same basic amenities and are all located within the sitio proper. However, there is this one place that stands out from the rest by offering a budget-oriented crib for nomads without compromising comfort. When I say comfort, I honestly mean  a clean room, new laundered towels and mattresses, a working toilet and bath with hot shower, unlimited supply of fresh tea and Ifugao coffee, power outlets, 24/7 electricity, and a patio overlooking the grand Maligcong Terraces. Php 350 is their rate per pax/night and they do arrange personalized tour.

CROSS PROCESS |

~ People, Cultures and Vibe ~

OLD SCHOOL RIDE |

You may not realize it, but Bontoc is quite gifted with wondrous terrain which are almost hidden in inner parts of its city. At this very moment, I am still trying to comprehend how in a world's space would rolling mountains, wispy clouds, rich vivid forestry are all gathered in a spur of one single frame. Open milieu provides view of the grassland and cliffs without occlusions. I was in awe and I hope to portray it through below images. All photos were cross-processed for this is my take on the experience — cultures, people and vibe of different genres, just like the art of cross-processing, were all mixed with several unpredictable elements, colors and textures to come up with something really, really amazing and beyond mediocre output.

PENTONG  PEACE WHEN YOU SEE IT |

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS |

So I packed without a definite plan - confused but excited - and found myself wandering by a circuitous route to a small town where mountain peaks emerge supreme and stretch vastly that it could almost open the gates of heaven.

Many times, I would find myself busy either saving visuals the vibe or drowning in silence.
It was a rapid series of fun rebellious events, from random thoughts to reflective conversation about identity, relationships, purpose, responsibility and life.

It was an experience filled with inconsequential moments from missing a trip to almost falling off a cliff! But there were days too, filled with realization of love and compassion from elsewhere.

Yet again, there's a first time for everything, and for everything else, there are some things that will always feel like the first time.

I was happy.
I am grateful.

Happy travels!

♥,
Love
